The countdown to October 31st has begun. It will be five hundred years since Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses against the sale of indulgences on the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany. Much has been said, written, and in other ways communicated about this historic event that precipitated a movement that we celebrate as the Reformation. The Reformers continued to study the Scriptures, preach, teach, learn and grow. All was not perfect, but we can be thankful that God’s Word which proclaimed the saving work of Jesus Christ was returned to the church.
